St Luke’s
St Luke’s school in Blakenhall combined the primary and junior elements of the school, previously located on separate sites approximately half a mile apart, into a new BREEAM excellent rated school. Despite value engineering to achieve the tight financial constraints, the 2 form entry school and community facilities were completed on time and on budget. The project utilised a highly insulated timber frame construction, natural cladding materials, high quality glazing and a biomass heating system. The completed scheme was awarded the prestigious RIBA Sorrel Foundation schools award for 2010.
